There are five rivers in Himachal Pradesh. These are the Chenab, the Ravi, the Beas, the Sutlej and the Yamuna. These rivers water came from snow and rainfall. 

1.The Beas- The Beas originated from Pir Panjal range near the Rohtang Pass.
Tributaries - Parbati, Hurla, Sainj, Uhl, Suheti, Luni, Banganga and Chaki.

2. The Ravi-The Ravi origin is Bara Banghal, Kangra a joint stream formed by the glacier named Bhadal and Tantgari. Chamba situated on its right bank.
Vedic name- Iravati

3.The Satluj- Satluj origin is from Tibet.Satluj covers longest distance.
Vedic name-Satudri

4.The Yamuna- The Yamuna river origin is in Yamunotri in Uttarkashi , Uttarakhand.
Tributaries -Tons, Giri and Bata.
Vedic name-Kalindi

5.The Chenab-The Chenab (Askni), the largest river (volume of water) is formed after the meeting of two streams namely, Chandra and Bhaga at Tandi, in Lahaul.
